Keeping 'Roza' while they shoot - A Challenge for Actors!

While the holy month of Ramzaan is going on, Muslims observe their Rozas throughout the day in this holy month. It becomes really tough for our Telly actors to keep a fast while they shoot for hectic hours as they need to do tough scenes, continuous dialogues deliveries while they keep a fast.

TellyBuzz quizzed some of your favorite stars to hear from them as how they manage to shoot during the holy month of Ramzaan and whether they keep a fast or not.

Adaa Khan, soon to be seen in Rashmi Sharma's next on Sony Pal - I have been keeping Roza since the age of 8. So, we used to fast during our school days and now when it comes to  shooting, the day goes faster. It's not difficult; it's all about your self control and self discipline. So, it works well. Sometimes keeping fast becomes hectic especially when you get to shoot outdoor in the scorching heat but if we are shooting where there is an AC, then it's fine. You feel tired and weak with your dialogue deliveries and continuity of shoot but it's all about your willpower. This year, I am not fasting during shooting because I have not been keeping well. I am just keeping fast when I have an off. It's quite fun to follow Roza.

Anas Rashid, currently seen in Star Plus' Diya Aur Baati Hum - We don't face any difficulty while shooting indoor. Sometimes I do feel the need of water. If I get a nap of around 1-2 hours in between the shots during the break time then the Roza goes very good. We just have to keep in mind that its Roza because sometimes it happens that people tend to forget that they are fasting and they might eat something as everybody around us are not fasting. So, I just make sure that I should not forget that I am fasting. It's very important that we should remember about our fast while we are fasting so that we do not forget about it and have something. This is our self control. This time I had lots of outdoor shoots including some action scenes so it was little difficult for me to keep my Roza during those days so that I won't make any mistake. So, I just avoided fasting during my outdoor shoots. It became easy for me to fast after we started shooting on our sets.

Akhlaque Khan, currently seen in Life OK's Baawre - I don't fast while I shoot because I have some of the health issues. Once I was fasting and by evening I was completely drained out. So, since then I avoid to fast while I shoot. I chant and pray as much as I can. There are some Do's and Don't's which I follow during Ramzaan. I try not to hurt anybody. For me, my work is my worship and I don't want to get it affected.

Ansha Sayed, currently seen in Sony TV's CID - I have been fasting for so many years now. Managing Roza is not difficult; it's just a habit. Initially, it becomes difficult but this year its monsoon so it's not that difficult because we just have to control our hunger because we feel more hungry during monsoon than feeling thirsty. While doing a show like CID, where we have to do scenes like running and chasing but there is some magic when you fast which don't let you happen anything. When we pray during fasting then some magic happens and you get the stamina automatically when you fast.

Shaheer Sheikh, who is currently seen in Star Plus' Mahabharat - It becomes difficult when we shoot outdoor because we sweat a lot in the sun and feel thirsty but we don't face any problem while we shoot indoors. I skipped few days of keeping Roza during the month of  Ramzaan as I was not keeping well. I just try to save my energy while I am fasting. I just go to my room during the breaks and sit down and be in the AC instead of roaming around.
