"I tie rakhi to my Kanhaji! " - Giaa Manek

Television's favourite Bahu Giaa Manek speaks about her unique way of celebrating Rakshabandhan in this exclusive chat with TellyBuzz.

TellyBuzz is back again with another special Rakshabandhan story. Rakshabandhan is a festival about a serene bond between a brother and a sister. Well, but not everyone has a brother and similar is the situation of our actor for the day. Giaa Manek does not have a brother but she definitely is not sad about the fact because she has her Kanhaji who protects her from everything.

Read on to know about Giaa's plan for this Rakshabandhan.

What is your plan for this Rakshabandhan?

I am not doing anything special this Rakshabandhan. I do not have a brother so I tie a rakhi to my Kanhaji (Lord Krishna). I want to tie rakhi to a few friends but they are running away from me because they do not want me to tie them rakhis (laughs aloud).  So, I won't be going out and will spend some quality time with my family.

From where did you get this unique idea of tying a rakhi to Krishnaji?

Saath Nibhana Saathiya gave me the idea of tying a rakhi to Kanhaji. While I was doing Saathiya, in almost every scene I used to remember Kanhaji. So I thought why not make him my brother. Rakshabandhan is a festival where the brother promises his sister that he will protect her and keep her away from all the bad. Kanhaji has always down the same to me. He has protected me from so many worst situations and taken care of me during my lows and bad days. So since, I have continued this tradition of tying a rakhi to him.

So how will you treat your Kanhaji this Rakshabandhan?

Every year I am shooting so I do not get time to make some kind of sweet for the Lord; but since I am home this Rakshabandhan, I will make some kind of mithai (sweet). And if not the entire sweet, I will make sure I put in some efforts and there is some kind of involvement from my side. I will use sweet as Prashad and then tie my Kanhaji the rakhi."

What is the best part of tying a rakhi to Lord?

Usually, sisters get cash or gifts in return but I get blessings which is even more valuable and important. It is a win - win situation both the sides.

Earlier when I was young, I used to cry and ask my parents why don't I have a brother?
(Laughs). Then, I used to tie a rakhi to my father. But now that I am tying to Lord Krishna, I will always continue this tradition.

All good wishes from team TellyBuzz to Giaa Manek on this Rakshabandhan!
