'Managing myself in Western attire is far easier'- Aakanksha Singh

How has it been to play Megha's journey from a widowed lady confined to the four walls of her house to a successful career woman, to a bride who is deeply in love with her husband?

Remarriage has been indeed a drastic change in Megha's life. She had never ever imagined that she would take that step. Megha is different from the usual soap heroines. It was nice to play her character that undergoes such transitions in life.

 

You are now a well loved nation-wide celebrity. How does that feel?

I don't consider myself a celebrity but just an actor. I am glad that fans appreciated my acting.

 

What advice would you give to patients who are paralyzed like Megha had been?

Yes, being paralyzed or suffering from any other serious illness is surely a difficult phase in your life. It after all brings about a radical change in life. Megha however built her inner strength to cope with her paralysis with Mohan's help. I would advise them to build their strength to fight the illness and to never lose hope.

 

Physiotherapy in the case of paralysis really does help as was shown in the case of Megha. As a student of physiotherapy did you advise the creatives to put that in the serial?

No, that was already in the script. However they had asked me as to what kind of exercises may be shown. I had recommended the physiotherapy exercise that Mohan had done to help Megha.

 

You just took your exams in Physiotherapy. How did your exams go?

My exams are still going on. My theory exams continue till October 15^th. They are going well.

 

In this three month vacation are you concentrating on your studies?

I will surely concentrate on my studies for these three months. However I will also do the things that I was unable to do for all these months when I was shooting for Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha. I love to watch movies which I will do during the weekends and also go out with friends.

 

Megha like many Indian women do on getting married has left her job. Would you like to see her take up a job again in Season 2? She after all is wasting her professional talents now.

Megha hadn't quit her job because she got married. She was to shift to the U.S after her marriage was  fixed with Manav.  She would have been uncomfortable to sit next to Mohan who was madly in love with her. She had taken up this job so that she could provide for her children. After getting married Mohan was the breadwinner, so she didn't feel the need to work anymore. She chose to be a homemaker so that she could take care of her children better.

 

Megha looks good both in sarees and Western clothes. However in Season 2 would we see Megha in Western clothes too?

I would be happy if that happens as managing myself in Western attire is far easier. I've been wearing sarees for such a long time while essaying Megha's role.

 

You nevertheless are a young lady in your early twenties. There is a little girl in you (we heard you like to go to bed with stuffed toys). Yet while playing a Megha you play a mature woman older than your age. What are the other girlie things you do in real life?

I have a big teddy bear which I transferred from my Jaipur to Mumbai house. I love teddy bears. However I can't quite recall what the other girlie things that I do are.

 

We heard that you had a boyfriend or were dating someone. Is that true?

I have just stopped taking personal questions.
