I dedicate my book to my maternal grandma: Digangana Suryavanshi

Tellybuzz in conversation with Digangana Suryavanshi….

digangana

Actress Digangana Suryavanshi, who has worked in TV shows like Shankuntala Ek Prem Kahani, Kya Haadsa Kya Haqeeqat, Jhooth Bole Kauwa Kaate, Krishna Arjun and recently seen in Ruk Jaana Nahin, is all set to make her come back with Zee TV's much awaited show Qubool Hai. This young star brims with talent as with her 15th birthday, she got her first English lyrics book launched at an International level. The book has been titled, Waves. Tellybuzz interacts with this little star to find out more about her journey, upcoming show and future plans...

How excited are you about your new show?

Pretty much because it's a really different show compared to what I have done in the past. It is based on a Muslim background and I am quite young in the entire cast. In fact I am the youngest amongst all and that's why I am pampered on the sets. Shooting for this is going to be really exciting as it is a totally different show with different characters, different body language, and a different way of speaking too. So, I am really excited.

Tell us something about your character in the show?

I am playing the character of Nuzrat in the show,  who is the step sister of Asad (Karan Singh Grover). She is a very passionate kind of a girl. Interestingly, she wants to become a fashion icon but her looks don't allow her to do so.Nuzrat wants to do something however her family doesn't allow her.

How's it working with Karan Singh Grover?

Pretty good! He is very good and a genuine person. I met him for the first time on this show. People say that when a person grows up as a star, attitude does come into picture. However this is not the case with him. He is really sweet.

You had a double celebration on 15th October. You turned 15 on that day and it marked the launch of your English lyrics book. How did that feel?

It was great. I completed my 15th year on that day. The launch of my book was fabulous too. I cut the cake and before that we had the book launch. My friends and family were all present for the launch. I was feeling so blessed that at the age of 15, I got my book launched at an International level. The book will be available on Amazon and Flipkart soon. This really makes me feel special. I can't express this feeling in words. My book is dedicated to my maternal grandma.

How did you develop this talent?

I am writing since the age of 5. I was very young and I didn't even know how to write properly. My mom used to write on my behalf. My parents have supported me a lot. I always wished to write on my own and when I joined school, I had English as my first language. I knew Hindi and Marathi but I didn't know how to write properly so I began to write in English only. That habit continued so much so that it has now become a passion for me and today I do know how to write in Hindi and Marathi as well. Acting, singing and writing is all interconnected for me that I find myself immersed in it. I feel blessed to have such an encouraging family.

Do you find it difficult to manage your school, hobbies, acting and personal life altogether?

Initially it was quite challenging for me to manage two things at the same time. I wanted to do something and when you really want to do something, you can manage everything. You can't showcase your talent to the world until you discover yourself otherwise I believe it is being unfair to oneself. I am good at studies and enjoy it too. Even if I don't study too much, I get things easily understood so I have no problem with it.

What are your hobbies?

I love to play badminton. I love to skate, paint and sketch too. I enjoy playing games and I also love to chat with my family.

What's your aim in life?

I want to continue with what I am doing. I want to be a singer, an actor, a writer, something related to artistic things because I am very fond of it.
