On the sets of Woh Rehne Wali Part 2, a Chit Chat with Chameli!!

We catch up with the bubbly Smita and get an insight of whats cooking behind the sets at Woh Rehne Wali Mehlon ki.

In part one of - behind the scenes of WRWMK, we caught up with Aamir Ali and Reena and got a sneak peak at what the cast was up to. As the unit was getting ready to say Lights Camera Action for one more time, we saw a familiar face walk in, dressed up in jeans, a casual t-shirt and a million dollar smile. Before we realised who the person was, the entire place turned into a laughter zone. Yes folks, it was none other than the extremely hyper actress Smita who plays - Chameli in the show. We caught up with the vivacious actress and discovered who she truly is, behind the scenes.

You are playing a character very similar to what you truly are. You are bubbly as Chameli is, so how has it been playing her?

Smita: (laughter) yes, I’m a complete blabber mouth, I can go on and on forever. But where do I differ is that Chameli is more of a gossip queen and I am not. Also, I am a complete tomboy and she is head over heals for make up. And we are similar in ways such as we are both full of energy. I love putting my own inputs to the character. I seriously have a great time.

You have been associated with television for a long time now, how has it changed? What do you prefer more? Television of today or of when you started off?

Smita: I’ll pick television of yesterday anytime. The kind of things that are shown today are so similar. Every show has the same thing. After playing Chameli, I had seventeen offers just to play a role similar to her. We don’t get variety to perform. Before, you had a huge variety. Now all, Saasumas are strict, all bahus want to take badla, all pativrata patnis are married five times, from those five husbands, they have god knows how many children, and those children grow up, but still those women are the ones getting married and not their kids. (laughter ) gosh, I just cannot handle this.

Anything new coming your way?

Smita: Yea, I am writing a movie right now. Day and night I write the dialogues and screen play of it. I am hoping it will be done soon.

You always wanted to be a writer? Or has it been something you’ve picked up recently?

Smita: No way, I always wanted to be everything. I want to be like Kkrish, who does everything. I want super powers like him to do everything. I have been an assistant director, an editor, a writer, an actor etc. I am as of now writing and acting and I just want to concentrate on these two things.

How has it been working on the sets?

Smita: Its been awesome. We do a lot of masti on the sets. I irritate everyone on the sets, the Assistant directors, the cast and crew, its just a lot of fun. We have a great time shooting. Bohot Dhamaal hota hain.

Lastly, any prince charming in sight?

Smita: (laughter) you really think so? No yaar, still on the look out. Will let you know as soon as I find Mr Right.

Well folks, we truly hope that Smita finds her prince charming soon and we wish this multi-talented actress all the best for her upcoming movie and her writing career.
