Handsome hunk Gautam Gulati, who gained immense popularity with his character of Vikram in Shashi Sumeet Mittal's popular show Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus recently quit the show. The actor who rose to fame after going to the Cannes for his movie Coward, is all set to make way to Colors' very popular reality show Bigg Boss Season 8. The talented actor always wanted to do something different and his entry into the house is making him even more excited.

TellyBuzz spoke to Gautam to know more about his reason for going to the Big Boss House and about his preparations as a contestant of the show.

What made you opt for Bigg Boss?

This is something new and different that I always wanted to do and when I was offered the show, I thought that I am the one who should be in it. I always wanted to do something different like this. Its tough to stay inside the house with different people, away from the outer world without your phones and anything but I have accepted this as a challenge.

What's going to be your strategy in the house?

I am going inside with an empty mind; I have no strategies as such. I want to go inside the house and see how the world is. I want to experience everything inside dealing with different kinds of people.

The show is all about controversies and fights. So, how well are you prepared to tackle the situations?

That I will get to know by going inside the house only. Everything will happen according to the situation but I will get to learn a lot for sure.

It was a big decision for you to quit a big show like Diya Aur Baati Hum and go for Big Boss, what has been your motivation throughout this?

I was a part of Diya Aur Baati Hum for my relation with the producer. I am already doing some movies and have got offers to go to US for the same but I had to decline it because of my shoot for the show. I was being offered for some shows as well but I didn't want to hurt anyone by leaving the show in between and going for the other. I was thinking about doing something different and about my personal growth as well. Its my personal choice so I convinced my producer for it and everything went well. I wish them all the best and hope the show will keep doing well with good TRPs.

How is the response from your co-stars?

Everyone wished me. They are happy for me going in the Big Boss but at the same time they are sad too that I quit the show. As Diya Aur Baati Hum is being watched in UK a lot and I have done some events there, I have been getting lots of messages from the fans of UK as well but people will get to see my real side inside the house.

Salman as a host, is known for leg pulling of the contestants. How will you deal with it?

I love Salman sir right from my childhood days and I respect him a lot. The best quality in him is that he is helping so many kids who are challenged. I always feel bad and pray for such kids. He is my inspiration. If he will pull my leg or even if he will scold me, then no problem. I will face his scoldings as haq banta hai unka. After all he is the Big Boss.

Have you followed the show earlier?

No, I haven't followed any of its season thoroughly because of my own shoot schedules but I have watched a little bit of it and it was fun.

You are a television actor who has been to the Cannes which was like a feather in your cap. Do you feel that Big Boss is going to be a turning point for your career?

I think so, for sure. I live in the present and don't think much about future. Whatever will come my way, I will take that up.
