"All my focus and energy will be on this show" Kanchi Kaul

After an extended honeymoon of more than a year, the pretty actress Kanchi Kaul is back in Star Plus’ new show Meri Bhabhi.

As reported by us earlier, Star Plus' new show Meri Bhabhi (which was earlier named as Sherdil Shergil) which focuses on the nanand-bhabhi relationship will see Kanchi Kaul playing the nanand. The pretty actress who got married to actor Shabbir Ahluwalia last year says that they were on an extended honeymoon and is now eager to get back to work.

"Actually I was never away… I was always doing ad films and will continue to do them henceforth too. All actors love experimenting and whatever the medium, whether it is films, TV or ads, I like to enact my skills" says Kanchi who has earlier done shows like Maayka -Saath Zindagi Bhar Ka, Bhabhi and Ek Ladki Anjaani Si.

Kanchi says after much deliberation she took up this show, "I was getting offers all the time but I wanted to do something different. The nanand-bhabhi concept has been shown earlier too on Indian television but it has generally been shown in a negative way but in this show it is completely different so that was the reason I said ok to this."

Talking about the show and her character in it, Kanchi says, "The serial is based in Delhi and is the story of a Punjabi family. I play the daughter of the family, nanand to the bahu of the family who due to some unfortunate, personal issues comes back to her parental home. The bhabhi who is the bahu of the family welcomes her with open arms and that is how the story moves forward."

Apart from this Kanchi is not interested in taking up anything at this moment, "Right now all my focus and energy will be on this show" says Kanchi who is not even involved in hubby Shabbir's production house. "My contribution to Shabbir's production house is bare minimum. He is doing a good job of it" she says. But what she does is fulfill the role of a good wife, "Like a good wife I take away his stress when he comes back home after a hard day's work."

When we asked her about how they met and got married Kanchi says, "We met through common friends and we got talking. We found out that we have a lot of things in common and were happily married soon after. We share the same goals, vision and interests."

And that has resulted in the couple visiting places far and wide. They have been travelling whenever they get some time off and the list of their vacation is exotic, "We have visited lots of places in India and abroad… we have gone to the South of France, Maldives, Paris. We both like adventure sports so that is something that we indulge in quite often" reveals Kanchi.
