Why a Press Conference just to announce a new show?

It has been quite some time now that rumors have started about Amitabh Bachchan working with Sony on a show. There have been speculations about 2 things – one, is that Oh My God, Amitabh Bachchan is doing another show for Sony and second is, Oh My God, is it a fiction show? We wanted to put a full stop to all the rumors and speculations and that is the reason we had a Press conference for Amitabh Bachchan's show.

Had you planned it since long? When do we get to know more details of the show?

It has been planned for some time now. When the time is right we will tell everyone about what the show is all about. If we reveal everything now, then what is the fun?

How did this show happen? Whose idea was it?

Endemol (the production house) approached Mr. Bachchan who heard the concept, like it and believed in it. Then they approached Anurag Kashyap as the Director and then when he too agreed to come on board they approached us and we happily agreed. Mr. Bachchan was already convinced and thus he was already on board when they came to us.

How is it working with Mr. Bachchan?

As Anurag too has said Mr. Bachchan is very demanding and that he has to be. He always wants to be 100% sure and clear about all things. It he was not ready, he would not be sitting here. And as Mr. Bachchan said rightly that he is ready to work long hours, let me tell you that even for KBC (Kaun Banega Crorepati) he sometimes puts in 18 hours! Mr. Bachchan is the best there is in the business. He is absolutely easy to work with and he just expects everyone who is working with to know their stuff, their work.

Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap is gaining popularity with all kids too liking the show… Was it a conscious decision to showcase his childhood days?

In Maharana Pratap, we had always decided that the focus will be on his younger days since they were his formative years. Those years stood for what he became later. The foundation was laid in those years and not when he was in his 20s or 30s so it became logical to focus on them. However, there is no hard and fast rule to show only the childhood part more, we also plan to show his courageous journey in the later years too. It is not a short journey and we plan to cover all aspects of his life.

It is being said that Dil ki Nazar se Khoobsurat will soon go off air…

About Khoobsurat, I have been hearing about the show not doing well since the day it was launched! The day after it was launched someone asked me whether it is going off air and still it is around till now!

There has been news that Saas Bina Sasuraal Season 2 will soon be back on Sony…

As far as I know, there is nothing finalized about getting Saas Bina Sasural Season 2 back on air. I have nothing to comment on that as yet.
