"I am a born romantic." - Arjun Bijlani

Coming soon on SAB TVâ€™s comedy drama revolving around cooking Jo Biwi Se Kare Pyaar, Arjun Bijlani talks excitedly about the show and his real life romantic equation with wife Neha.

After his last stint as a police officer in Kaali - Ek Punar Avatar, Arjun took the plunge and got married to his long-time girlfriend Neha Swami. While many of his fans were waiting for his comeback he took his time to finalize his next show and will now be seen on SAB TV's fun and light-hearted drama cum cookery show Jo Biwi Se Karein Pyaar.

Talking to TellyBuzz at the launch of the show, Arjun gleaming happily after his marriage says, "I took up the show because my wife Neha said so and it is called Jo Biwi se kare Pyaar! I am recently married so I am doing the show for my wife, Neha as I want to learn some cooking so as to impress her. At the same time the show has romance and comedy which is something new for me since I don't want to be limited as an actor doing typical kind of roles so I like this mix of serious and drama, and at the same time something which is lighthearted."

He plays Aditya who is a nice, simple guy married to Suhani (Shweta Gulati) who cook the daily dinner together and Arjun believes that the show will help couples come closer. "The show is about a husband and wife who are a working couple. They spend time cooking together so they have romance in the kitchen. Normally working couples don't get time to spend with each other and by the time they come back home usually the wife is cooking while the husband is unwinding as he watches TV or is busy on the laptop so this is a nice way to spend your time. While cooking there will be own moment for romance. It is important to be connected as a couple."

Arjun feels that the show reflects his own experience in real life too, "Neha is not a working woman so when I go back home she is there, waiting for me and the food is ready too, but I try to make an effort to support her. I try to help her by getting the plates and all even though we have house help. Even before this show I used to go into the kitchen and ask Neha what are you making today and help her in cutting, chopping, etc. It's fun because that genuine smile which you get on your wife's face or your loved one's face is what you enjoy because life is all about enjoying and relishing these small moments and I want to enjoy all the moments like these when I am working or when I am at home. I want to remember everything and make sure that it is worth the time spend."

He plans to go a step further by cooking all that he will learn on the sets of the show, "I am learning to cook new dishes and I am writing all the recipes in my diary and I plan to make them all whenever I am free after the show. December is party time and we will have friends over too at that time so that is when I will probably try hand at cooking."

Arjun seems to be madly in love with Neha, does he discuss everything with her? "Yes, I involve her in all my day to day routine. It is important for you to do that with your partner otherwise after couple of years of marriage you lose interest in each other. Recently I read that there was a survey done and 60 - 70 % of marriages are ending up in divorce which is a really sad thing. There are egos and you are not part of your partner's life so once you and your wife are taking decisions together it helps. We were even offered Nach Baliye season 6 and we were keen on doing it but it didn't work out somehow."

On the show Arjun is shown as being very mushy and romantic with his on-screen partner. Is he the same in real life too? "In real life too I am romantic by heart. I am a born romantic. I see romance in everything. I can just come out of the shower and if Neha is just sitting and watching TV, I will sprinkle water on her or when she is cooking I will just swirl her. These kind of actions are called typical filmy but it is such things that we all enjoy."

So for him there is nothing like the most romantic moment because he sees romance in everything says Arjun, "We have had all the moments of romance and I don't think this is less romantic or this is more romantic because I believe that everything you do dil se is romantic. Sometimes doing nothing but just sitting next to her or if she is upset just sitting and talking to her, telling her a joke to make her feel better too is being romantic. Even when I sit next to her I keep on texting her which is being very romantic according to me."

Today is also the first Karwa Chauth that the couple will be celebrating after marriage and Arjun tells us the plans. "Neha has kept the Karwa Chauth fast and done the pooja and the sargi. She is also thankful that I am not shooting today so that I reach home early and she can break her fast on time. And next year I too plan to fast with her."
