On the same we got in touch with the
actor to know about his role, how is it working with the entire cast and the
production house of the show, does he relate to his character of Ashwathama well and much more in conversation with TellyBuzz.
Read on to know more...
We quizzed Ankit to know on how he bagged the role of Ashwatama and he shares, "I had previously worked with Swastik Productions, so considering my acting skills and the way I work too, they offered me this mythological show. I was very happy to take it up as I thought I can portray this character. The character sketch of Ashwathama is negative but he always fights for right and that is what attracted me also I have a lot of shades to portray in my character, so I grabbed the opportunity."
Further talking about working with the Production house, he says "It is awesome working with the production house. As I said before that I have worked with this production house earlier as well, hence it is a very nice environment on the sets. The producer Siddharth Kumar Tewary is very co-operative and helping in nature. Also everybody on the sets are very dedicated towards their work and that is what motivates me to work even the harder. As I knew Sahadev (Lavanya Bharadwaj) and Yudishthir (Rohit Bharadwaj) from quite a long time, I am very much friends with them now and we all have a great time on the sets of the show."
Ankit says that he researched a lot after taking up the role of Ashwatama, "I researched a lot, read a lot of books and studied the character of Ashwathama very well. The best part was that even Rajat Kapur was impressed with me during the workshop which I took up. I have always believed in working hard and being able to do justice towards the roles that I have taken up."
We also quizzed him, to know on if he is given a chance to portray any character from Mahabharat then which one would he choose and why? And he replied, "I would really want to play the character of Karan. I am very much fascinated with the character of Karan and the intensity of that role."
Further talking about his career besides doing Mahabharat, we asked him on what are his other interests besides acting and he says, "I am a trained dancer, also I love reading novels, and like singing too. I am very much of a health freak so sometimes I go for a long walk with a bag full of bricks."
"I am very choosy when it comes to take up roles. I
want to do only meaningful and intense roles in my life, something like the
work done by the ace actors Pankaj Kapoor and Irrfan Khan. It is not just that I
only want to play positive roles in my life, I want to explore my acting skills
and also look forward to negative roles too as they give a lot of performance
space," concludes Ankit, when asked him about his future plans.
Well this sounds really impressive! Way to go Ankit Mohan, we wish you all the very best for your future endeavors.

Sounds like another promising addition to the Mahabharata cast: respect to those actors who have broadly as well as researched intensely for their role n wholly surrendered to their respective character. Its shamefully incredible to read of the few (amba n kunti) who didn't even bother to watch Brchopras adaptation of the Mahabharata, granted its not the pivot point for reference, but it still falls into the multitude of resources that's out there associated with the epic and its close adherence to the text makes it a must-see. Anyway, looking forward to this new batch of actors
