Hyderabad police book Salman for insulting religion

Police here on Friday booked actor Salman Khan for hurting religious sentiment of Muslims in a TV reality show hosted by him on Colors channel.

olice here on Friday booked actor Salman Khan for hurting religious sentiment of Muslims in a TV reality show hosted by him on Colors channel.

A case against Salman and producers of the show 'Bigg Boss' for insulting a religion was booked under section 295 of the Indian Penal Code at Falaknuma police station in the old city of Hyderabad.

Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma told reporters that the case was booked on the direction of a city court after a petitioner, in his complaint, alleged that the religious sentiments of Muslims were hurt during the show.

"Before proceeding further with the investigations in the case, we have sought legal opinion with regard to the jurisdiction and culpability," he said.

The police chief said the petition alleged that the show hurt the religious sentiments by depicting 'Jannat' (heaven) and 'Jahannum' (hell).

Mohammed Fasihuddin had filed a complaint in the court of VIth Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, which directed police to register a case.

i think all this is done just bcoz of cheap publicity for the show.first, all that arman,sofia drama,police,court blah blah,jackpot actor sunil,s filed case against khusal etc etc.
show is going to end and now this news came,i mean janant jhanam concept was over many weeks before.why not this news came then.
total illogical and absured incidents are happening. and ya salman is just a host ,i really think jhanam janat idea was not from his mind :P

And I thought Salman has made a controversial statement. When I read the reasoning, I was like WHAT?! Even though I believe Salman has made many grave mistakes on the show, I would certainly disagree with this one. To begin with, the concept of Hell and Heaven is not something restricted to Islam. All four Abrahamic religions subscribe to this view, so I don't see why it should be the sole concern of Muslims...

I am not a Salman fan , but why the hell is he being targeted in the above article ? This filed case is just a non sense ! The channel & the creatives have done this , he is just being paid for his Saturdays & Sundays .
