Malini Kapoor to play Ekta in SAB TV's Gunwale..

Malini Kapoor plays a TV serial producer Kekta Kakoor in SAB TV's Gunwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge...

After playing negative in Zaara, Malini Kapoor is all set to make you laugh with her portrayal of soap queen Ekta Kapoor in SAB TV's Gunwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.  "I play a TV serial producer called Kekta Kakoor who gets kidnapped by Himani Shivpuri, the mother of goon Tiger. These sweet gangsters are angry at Kekta as she shows only serials where families are strife torn. They want me to show real love. However, Kekta instead of being scared tries to convince Tiger and even the servant of the house to leave the underworld and join her. She promises to make them big stars", avers Malini.

Malini feels that Ekta should take this lightly. "Imitation is the best form of flattery.  The show has all the mannerisms of the soap queen (anger), but yes they have over hyped it to meet a sitcom's requirement", she adds. Talking about her look she says, "I have worn what normally Ekta wears i.e.  a skirt and top and a spaghetti on that".

Besides this three episode cameo, Malini is also doing a lead role in  Hari Mirch Lal Mirch. "I play Rinku  in this DD weekly sitcom, which also star's Tushar Dalvi and Sucheta Pawse.  It's a story about a man who has two wives. It's really fun to laugh after crying so much".

It is also speculated that Malini might be doing an important role in Zee TV's upcoming historical 'Jhansi Ki Rani'.  However she refuses to talk about it.

vaise kai bar aisa hota hai TAHT some pepole says that she has created a new trend .. i guess to some extent it is right but you know the main thing why people critics her becoz she treat her actors and other coworker like a slave, behave like she is a queen and show on tv serial that how much she respect .. infact in her own shows some time women are talking and shouting like they know everything and the male charchter just stand there and see whats going on ... even the maine female when throw out of the house male lead just show their sad face and than cry taking the photes... i mean sab ho raha hai bhai khan ho tum tab kuch kero per tab chup khade hote hai...
and she keep on showing the same uncompatible marriages, extra affair , pragnancy without marraige ... sabkuch phir kaho main indian culture dikah rahi hun

i think the scenario of tv industry n its vastness, popularity in terms of financial stakes , the whole competition tv has been able to give it to films has been due to ektas serials , her larger than life chars n she turned them into superstars n this trends of soaps airing from mon to thurs or fri is all because of her... before that tv used to be second rate poor cousin of films...
