Anukalp is spirited and full of life. An engineer with a post graduate degree in business administration, Anukalp works for an MNC in Delhi. Anukalp takes a little time to open up but he is friendly, reliable, witty and sensitive. Moving to Delhi was a culture shock but Anukalp adapted well to the big city. Anukalp is most attached to his mother and expects his wife to be like her. His relationship with his Daadi is, however, different. Daadi is very fond of him yet his strong affiliation with his mother, results in Daadi trying to pull Anukalp into her orbit of influence. He respects his Dada jee and and hopes to walk on the path shown by his grandfather. Anukalp understands his father's desire to prove himself and hence, keeps getting brochures of new business start-ups. Anukalp is aware of his responsibility to his sisters. He hopes to find right grooms for them and get them married off sooner or later. The open flirting of Delhi girls unnerves him. He is comfortable talking to Mona. Though attracted to her initially, he backs out realizing the cultural and regional differences between the two families.
